Draws are now live on the Harbour website...
Saturday
First up we have the Division 2 Women playing at 10am on Harbour 5 against Warkworth for a place in the Grand Final. Warkworth come into this game strong favourites having won every game for two years. ABC, who finished second in pool play, gave them their toughest game of the season and will go into this game looking for an upset.
At the same time Division 2 Black Men are on Harbour 4 for a Plate Semi-Final against NSU Red. In pool play NSU beat ABC in a game that blew out in the final quarter. This should be a closely fought battle.
The big match of the day is at 12.30pm in the Inter City Grand Final for the Prem Women against Somerville. Click here for more information in what promises to be an exciting game at Lloyd Elsmore Park turf 2.
At 2.45pm on Harbour 2 the Prem 3 Women challenge Takapuna for a place in the Grand Final. This is a match up of two teams with very similar results in pool play: each with four wins, two draws and a loss.
At 3.15pm, the Prem 3 Men take on East Coast Bays. ECB have been one of the strongest teams in this grade for a number of years and it will be interesting to see how a much younger ABC team competes against them to see who makes the Grand Final next weekend.
Also at 3.15pm Div 2 Yellow Men play Takapuna Titans for a spot against ABC Maroon in the Bowl Final on Harbour 5. Both teams have a mix of experience and youth which will make this an interesting game.
To round things off, at 6.45pm on Harbour 5, Div 2 Maroon men take on Glenfield Old Boys in a non-comp game. This will present a challenge with ten players out. Maroon has mustered an eleven that includes three goalies!
Sunday
Prem 2 Women kick things off at 9.45am with a winner takes all game against NSU on Harbour 2.
Shortly afterwards Prem 2 Men have a "friendly" against NHI at 10.00 am on Harbour 5. After an outstanding result last week, they are in poll position but will be waiting with baited breath for the result between Takapuna and NSU with all three teams theoretically having a chance to progress to the Grand Final.
Also at 10am on Harbour 4, the undefeated Division 1 Women take on NSU Red who are coming with a late run to the Grand Final.
At 11.30, Division 1 TIger Turf have a match against Warkworth on Harbour 1. There have been some close tussles with Warkworth over the last two season and a healthy rivalry is developing between the two clubs.
This is followed by Division 1 Yellow who face off against Takapuna on Harbour 4 at 1.30pm. There is a possibility of an all ABC Grand Final in Division 1.
To finish off an exciting weekend our newly formed Division 3 Women's team takes on NSU Blue at 3.15pm on Harbour 5.
Many of the teams competing for Grand Final spots were in Plate Finals last year, so this represents a step up for most. It's great that we can enjoy a Finals programme after such a disrupted season. Good luck to everybody this weekend.
